Blackjack Rules

Blackjack is a very simple card game to learn and has been played for centuries already. The goal in blackjack is to beat the dealer and not other players, and in order to beat the dealer you need to be closer to 21 without going over 21. If you go over 21 this is known as busting your hand and you automatically lose your bet. If you don’t bust your hand and the dealer busts there hand then you automatically win the hand. The most important thing to learn right now is the value of each card so you know what your hand total is before deciding on your next move.

• Ace = 1 or 11

• 2-9 = Value on card

• 10-K = 10

The suits of the cards have absolutely no relevance in blackjack and the only thing you need to know about the value of the cards is listed above. It’s very simple to remember as there aren’t many values in this game and it shouldn’t take long to memorize the values of the cards.

To start a new hand online blackjack the player’s are required to set there bets for the hand, and you do so by placing your bet in the small square in front of you. You should stack your chips from highest to lowest as well, but isn’t mandatory as the dealer will do it for you if you don’t do it.

Once everyone has made there bet the dealer will start with the player to his left and deal one face up card to everyone including himself. The dealer will then continue to deal another face up card to everyone except for himself, as the dealer’s second card is face down.

After the cards are dealt out to the players the dealer will start again with the player to the left and every player will have there turn to make there move. You’ll have the option of hitting, standing, doubling down or splitting pairs. In case you don’t know what these plays means I’ll briefly describe them for you.

• Hit = Take a card

• Stand = No more cards

• Double Down = Double your bet and take one card only

• Split Pairs = Splitting a pair into two hands and playing them separately

You should read up on basic blackjack strategy so that you now when to make each of the above moves. There is no guarantee, but by following the basic blackjack strategy principles you should be able to do fine at the blackjack tables.

After every player is done making there moves the dealer will flip over his second card to see what the total of there hand is. If it’s fewer than 17 then they need to hit and once they have 17 or higher then they need to stick so a dealer doesn’t have any say in what moves they make. They have set plays they need to follow which makes the game a bit simpler. If they have bust then you automatically win the hand which is great because it won’t matter what you have as long as you didn’t bust as well.

Once the dealer is done with there hand they’ll pay the winners and take the chips from anyone who lost the hand. After the chips are off the betting area everyone is aloud to make there bet for the next hand and then everything above is repeated.
